Service Changes

We will keep you updated regarding service changes via email and/or text message. Please keep in mind that during major holidays that your service day may change. Service may also be affected by mechanical issues or inclement weather, so please keep an eye on your email for updates that affect you directly.  If we do not have your email and cell phone on file, please call us at 970-285-9565 and provide us with that information so we can keep you up to date on the status of your service.

Service Guidelines

Please take a moment to read over the following service guidelines:

  • Poly carts are provided but remain the property of Bruin Waste Management. 
  • Carts must be curbside by 7 AM on the day of your service – Service will not always occur at the same time every week.
  • If you have two carts, please place them at 3 feet apart. 
  • NO HOT ASHES, LIQUIDS OR HAZARDOUS WASTE are allowed in the cart. Please feel free to contact us anytime you want clarification on a particular item you intend to dispose of.
  • No concrete, dirt or rocks are allowed in the cart.
  • Carts cannot weigh over 150 lbs.
  • Please place pine needles, grass clippings and sharp objects into bags to minimize contact and injury to our employees.
  • On occasion, if you plan to have an extra bag or two to the side of your cart, please notify the office to place a driver note on your account. If extra bags become a regular occurrence, there will be slight extra, per bag, charges.  
  • Please do not place items in the cart that you do not intend to throw away. Only trash destined for the landfill is to be placed in the carts. Bruin Waste Management is not responsible for items lost in the trash streams.  

Billing

Your first bill will arrive shortly after you begin service and will be prorated according to your start date. 

You will receive an email invitation to register for our customer portal. If it does not arrive, please call us. You can make one-time payments, schedule automatic payments, view invoices, review your payment/service history, and submit support tickets through the online customer portal. If you prefer to mail your check or deliver it in hand.

Compost Collection

Compost Guidelines

  • Composting Steps

  • If desired line your sealable bucket with a BPI certified compostable bag (this is not necessary but helps keep your bucket clean)

  • Take all stickers, labels, and plastic off your food scraps
  • Fill your bucket with food waste, see the list below for accepted materials.
  • Leave your sealed bucket by your front door on pickup day or take your bucket to your building’s compost drop off area anytime.
  • Rinse and repeat!

Contamination of compost is a huge issue composting facilities face. If you are unsure if your item is compostable, please put it in your trash or recycling bin instead. Thank you.

Hazardous materials are classified differently by country, state, county and city. Be familiar with or ask one of our Regional Office team members what is acceptable in your area’s recycling centers and landfills.

Additional fees may be charged for some materials. Be clear and up-front about what you will be putting into a dumpster to ensure you will not be penalized for hazardous content later.
